Report: The State of Indigenous Peoples’ and Local Communities’ Lands and Territories

WCS contributed to and is a partner in the development of a new report that demonstrates how global biodiversity goals are unattainable without the full recognition of the land and resource rights of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs).

The report makes recommendations for actions by policy makers, donors, and conservation organizations. Compiled by conservation experts and organizations, in consultation with Indigenous Peoples and their representatives, the report highlights the crucial role of IPLCs in protecting nature and biodiversity globally and the pressures that undermine their ability to continue to play this role.
