Terms & Conditions for Image Submission and Use

Thank you for submitting a photo or video (“Image”) in response to our call for Images for WCS’s Seeing Is Believing website, to help us message that the climate crisis is here, now and everywhere. Prior to submitting an Image, please read the terms below and check “I agree” to indicate your understanding and agreement. WCS will notify you if we add your Image to the Seeing is Believing website. WCS will make the Image freely available to others, through the website.

I hereby grant permission and a non-exclusive, unrestricted, royalty-free, sublicensable right, but not the obligation, for the Image to be displayed, reproduced, published, copied, distributed, shared and otherwise used and exploited, by WCS and any others who may obtain the Image from WCS or the Seeing is Believing website, worldwide, in all media, in perpetuity, for any lawful non-commercial purpose. Anticipated uses of the Image by WCS may include, without limitation, on WCS social media accounts and websites, and/or in press releases and other communications channels, both print and digital. Subsequent users may include news media, corporations and other organizations, and these others may use the Image in various media, formats and manners. I understand and agree that the Image may be adjusted, edited, cropped, optimized, remixed, adapted or otherwise modified and that derivative works may be created from the Image, by WCS and/or by others.

I understand and agree that WCS will credit me on the website as the photographer or creator using the information I provide. I acknowledge and agree that there may be other circumstances in which WCS uses the Image where it is not possible for WCS to credit me. I also acknowledge and agree that while WCS will request others who obtain the Image from the website to credit me as the photographer or creator in subsequent uses of the Image, WCS cannot guarantee that I will be credited. I hereby release WCS and its trustees, officers, employees and agents, from any and all claims relating to the use of my Image, and any accompanying text, by WCS or by others.

By submitting the Images, I certify that I am at least 18 years of age, own all rights to the Image and/or all rights necessary to grant the permissions given herein, and that the use of the Image by WCS and/or others as permitted herein will not infringe the rights of any third party or violate any agreement between me and a third party. I further certify that I have obtained permission from any individual recognizably appearing in the Image to use such individual’s likeness in accordance with the provisions of this permission.
