Ben Hoyer is the Associate Director for Conservation Investment on the WCS Markets team. He works with the REDD+ team on budgeting and planning of projects and investment modeling, as well as the overall business pipeline and planning of the REDD+ program. As part of the markets team more broadly, he uses his investment expertise to plan and evaluate conservation enterprise investments across WCS’s global organization. He was previously a partner at JANA Partners, a multi-billion dollar, global hedge fund headquartered in New York where he was a portfolio manager and served on the investment and risk committees. While at JANA, he led the firm’s effort to expand its investing capacities internationally and across asset classes. Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and mathematics from SUNY Purchase.
