Research Assistant, Ocean Giants

Grace is a Research Assistant with the Ocean Giants Program at WCS. She works on analyzing archived acoustic recordings from the WCS, WHOI and Equinor PAM program in the Equinor Wind Lease 0512 area and assessing habitat use and behavior of cetaceans in the NYB. Grace’s research interests include using bioacoustics to understand marine mammal vocal communication and behavioral ecology, and how anthropogenic and environmental factors influence habitat use of cetacean species. Grace completed her BSc in Marine Biology at the University of St Andrews in Scotland where she worked on describing the whistle repertoire of rough-toothed dolphins and investigated utilizing bottlenose dolphin signature whistles for population abundance estimation.
