Emily Long
Program Assistant

Emily is the Program Assistant for WCS’s Global Marine team, where she provides administrative, programmatic, financial, and communications support to the Marine Conservation Program. She holds a Master of Urban Planning degree from Hunter College with a concentration in sustainability and the environment. There she focused on the implementation of nature-based solutions and policies that enhance ecological resilience. Prior to her current role, Emily worked at several zoos and aquariums before beginning her career with WCS in 2018 as a Wild Animal Keeper in the Mammalogy Department. In that role, she notably assisted in preparing for the transfer of bison to join the Osage Nation Herd—an effort supporting both species conservation and cultural restoration.
