Hudson Canyon to NY Harbor Festival

Join the Wildlife Conservation Society’s New York Aquarium and partners for a free, family–friendly STEM festival. Learn about the ecological, economic and cultural importance of Hudson Canyon and its connection to New York Harbor and communities across New York and New Jersey.

This builds on the work that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of National Marine Sanctuaries is leading to designate a new national marine sanctuary in the Hudson Canyon area.

The festival is intended to mark the one-year anniversary of NOAA’s Hudson Canyon research cruise and the 101st anniversary of the Arcturus Oceanographic Expedition which was led by scientists and artists from the Wildlife Conservation Society. To celebrate these historic anniversaries, the festival will coincide with the public presentation of Anita Glesta’s immersive public artwork, AQUA COSMOS: The Hudson Canyon, which will be projected on the Brooklyn Bridge the evenings of September 25 and 26, viewable from 7-10 pm from Emily Warren Roebling Plaza in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
