Caroline Abid
Chief of Party, Sustainable Wildlife Management Programme
Caroline holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from École Centrale Paris, France. Before joining WCS, she was a manager at an environmental consultancy firm. She has experience in site remediation, air and water quality, waste management, nature conservation and community engagement.
Over the past years, she has coordinated the Sustainable Wildlife Management Programme. This international initiative aims to improve the conservation and sustainable use of wildlife, secure the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities, improve food security, and strengthen a One Health approach. She is involved in the project's strategic development, as well as its technical, financial, compliance, and communication components.
As part of the WCS Rights and Communities team, she supports the development of inclusive natural resource governance programs and policies. She also contributes to tools and guidance on social and environmental safeguards, providing country programs with the necessary training and hands-on assistance to implement them.
