Each year, WCS hires many seasonal employees to fulfill crucial roles in providing our guests with a high quality and meaningful experience at our New York City zoos and aquarium.

WCS employs seasonal staff from March through October. During this time, full-time and part-time schedules are available in guest service, food service, retail sales, membership sales, telephone sales, special animal exhibits, and maintenance. WCS offers a collaborative and supportive work environment that values accountability, initiative, performance, teamwork, and fun.

Candidates must be able to work weekends and holidays and preferably weekdays as well. Strong customer service orientation, reliability and dependability, a positive attitude, and the ability to stand outdoors in a variety of weather conditions are requirements for all seasonal positions. Pay starts at $7.25 per hour.

Seasonal employment offers great opportunities for professional development. With many full-time WCS employees having started as seasonal employees, a summer job could turn into a long-term career opportunity.
