Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather Photo
Right now, the albatrosses of Steeple Jason Island, off Argentina’s eastern coast, are flocking together in the hundreds of thousands. Each austral spring, this part of the Falkland Islands welcomes many black-browed albatrosses to nest on its rocky terrain. This particular albatross colony is the largest in the world. Elsewhere in the southern Atlantic and Pacific oceans, these birds lay their one egg on steep, grassy cliffs.
