WCS's Prospect Park Zoo Offers Winter Holiday Camp
Brooklyn
, NY
– October 7, 2009 - Now your
8 to 11 year old can have a holiday adventure at Prospect Park Zoo. When
school is closed, send your child to the zoo for two days of fun, learning and
exploration. Kids will learn what strategies animals use to survive the
winter in Brooklyn and around the world as
they:
- Meet animals who
hibernate, change their colors and use other special cold weather
adaptations like chinchillas, tenrecs, snakes and more;
- Come face to face
with an owl and act as scientists to dissect owl pellets;
- Work in groups to
prepare winter treats for the zoo animals and complete a behavior study of
the animals;
- Learn what zoos do
in winter to keep animals healthy and active;
- Make cool crafts to
take home.
And much
more.

Monday December 28th and Tuesday December 29th.
Ages 8 – 11. $120. Call 718-399-7327 or email ppzeducation@wcs.org

The Wildlife Conservation Society saves wildlife and wild places worldwide.
We do so through science, global
conservation, education and the management of the world's largest system of
urban wildlife parks, led by the flagship Bronx Zoo. Together these
activities change attitudes towards nature and help people imagine wildlife and
humans living in harmony. WCS is committed to this mission because it is
essential to the integrity of life on Earth.
