WCS’s Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo Hold “Presents to the Animals” Events

Donate a new toy for children affected by Hurricane Sandy, and receive a ticket to the Bronx Zoo 

New York – December 5, 2012– The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Prospect Park and Queens Zoos will hold ‘Presents to the Animals’ events in December
The schedule at Prospect Park Zoo is:
  • Saturdays and Sundays in December, 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
December 8/9: baboons at both times
December 15/16: golden lion tamarins and Pallas’s cats
December 22/23: meerkats and mongoose
December 29/30: Geoffrey’s tamarins and North American river otters
The schedule at the Queens Zoo is:
  • Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 8 – 9 and 15 – 16:
Coyotes: 1 p.m.
Pumas: 2:15 p.m.
Andean bears: 2:45 p.m.

Each zoo will accept new, unwrapped toys for children who live in communities hit by Hurricane Sandy. The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Prospect Park Zoo, opens every day of the year at 10 a.m. with seasonal closing times. Admission is $8 for adults, and $5 for children ages 3-12 and $6 for senior citizens (65 and older); children under 3 years of age are admitted free. The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Queens Zoo – Open every day of the year. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 65 and older, $5 for kids 3-12, free for children under 3. Zoo hours are 10am to 5pm weekdays, and 10am – 5:30pm weekends, April through October, and 10am – 4:30pm daily, November through April.
