A Native New Yorker

A Native New Yorker Photo
This little green crab was plucked from Brooklyn’s Atlantic oceanfront during a recent monitoring effort. Volunteers and staff from WCS’s New York Aquarium are surveying sea life in local waters.

Just off the shores of Coney Island, migratory whales, sea turtles, sharks, and crabs alike mingle in the extraordinary New York Seascape. These creatures navigate the waters' highly productive estuaries, nearshore migration corridors, a sandy continental shelf, deepsea canyons, and soaring seamounts.
