Like many denizens of the Arctic, walruses confront threats to survival as they cope with climate change, industrialization of the regions they inhabit, and limited food supply. With countless challenges ahead, these marine mammals depend on organizations like WCS for assistance. 

We actively support conservation efforts on both sides of the Bering Strait, where we collaborate with groups like the Eskimo Walrus Commission—indigenous stewards of walruses on land. And our efforts aren’t limited to remote cold-weather locales; on October 6 at the New York Aquarium, we’re supporting the mighty magnates of the north through our biannual WCS Run for the Wild.
