- Since 2003, poachers in Zambia’s Luangwa Valley have been exchanging their guns and snares for tools and training in sustainable agriculture. Thanks to the WCS COMACO program, these men now earn sustainable livings as beekeepers. Armed with buckets full of honey and waxy honeycomb, the ex-poachers take their gooey goods to Lundazi. Here, the COMACO production center packages honey, peanut butter, rice and other foodstuffs under the It’s Wild brand.
