Protecting Alberta’s Headwater Havens

The Eastern Slopes of southwest Alberta are home to an array of iconic wildlife species, including wolverine like this one. These animals are the largest land-dwelling weasels and they are able to travel incredible distances to find food in this harsh terrain.

A wolverine’s territory can be even larger than that of a grizzly bear, despite their difference in size. As climate change reshapes the Southern Canadian Rockies, these and many other vulnerable, wide-ranging species will be forced to adapt—and will need more room to roam.
