Charitable Lead Trust, Life Insurance, Retirement Assets

Charitable Lead Trust
A Charitable Lead Trust is the "reverse" of a charitable remainder trust. It provides income payments to Wildlife Conservation Society for a number of specified years with the remainder of assets going to your designated heirs. Based on the present value of the total income WCS will receive from the trust, you will enjoy a charitable income tax deduction at the time the gift is made. This will reduce or possibly eliminate the gift tax on the eventual transfer to your heirs. By naming WCS as a beneficiary in a trust, you are entitled to membership in the Wildlife Heritage Circle recognition society.  Click here for more details.

Life Insurance Policy
When you designate WCS as beneficiary of your life insurance policy, your policy is not included in your taxable estate. Modest premiums can result in significant cash gifts to WCS. By naming WCS as beneficiary of your life insurance policy, you are entitled to membership in the Wildlife Heritage Circle recognition society. Click here for more details.

Retirement Assets
Retirement assets are perhaps one of the best gifts to make to charity. If they are bequeathed to anyone except a spouse or charity, they might be subject to extremely high rates of taxation (both estate and income). By naming WCS as a beneficiary of your retirement assets, you are entitled to membership in the Wildlife Heritage Circle recognition society.  Click here for more details.

Any Questions?
There are many other creative ways to make a planned gift. To receive a copy of the planned giving brochure, Ways to Give, please call or e-mail the Planned Giving office. We are happy to give you more detailed information about the aforementioned gift planning vehicles, as well as those not mentioned here due to space limitations.
