Track Detectives NEW!

In this brand new program that is sure to leave an "impression," children ages 8-12 will explore the world at their feet… well, a world of animal feet. Just as animals have different kinds of faces, they also have different kinds of feet. And trekking through snow, sand, or soil, those fabulous feet leave behind tantalizing tracks that provide scientists with clear signs of an animal’s presence. As they take part in the ancient science of tracking and earn their Master Tracker certificate, your child will learn how to identify different animals by their footprints, decipher clues about a tracking story to figure out what animals are doing and create a tracking story of their own. Your child will even create an endangered species footprint mold using a technique employed by WCS scientists in the field. Visits from an agile armadillo and a sure-footed fox will complete this terrific program about studying animals from the ground up.
